Arlington Heights library wrong to cancel immigration program
I am sorely disappointed in the Arlington Heights library's decision to cancel this week's immigrant event because of threats. This was not a meeting of a criminal or terrorist element. It was a meeting to inform people of their rights.
If people have an objection to such a meeting, they could hold their own meeting, write letters of complaint or hold a peaceful protest outside the meeting site. That is what democracy looks like.
Canceling the meeting sends the wrong message about our community.
