Hoffman Estates police, firefighters meet in softball game

The Hoffman Estates Citizen Police Academy Alumni Association (HECPAAA) is sponsoring its fifth annual Shootz & Ladderz Softball Game in which the Hoffman Estates Police Department will take on the Hoffman Estates Fire Department.

This free event takes place at 1 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 30, with a rain date of 1 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 7, at Cannon Crossings, 1675 Nicholson Drive in Hoffman Estates, near Timber Trails Elementary School.

Come out and watch the reigning-champion Hoffman Estates firefighters as they battle the Hoffman Estates police officers on the diamond for bragging rights and a trophy.

The event will host games with prizes for children. T-shirts, rally towels and snacks (water, soda, mini hot dogs, chips and candy) will be for sale. All proceeds will go toward the purchase of new equipment for Hoffman Estates first responders.
