Discover volunteers spend day working at Little City in Palatine

More than 200 volunteers from Discover's Corporate Finance Department in Riverwoods worked at Little City in Palatine Tuesday to give the place needed renovations and upgrades to support the residents.

Projects included giving the softball field a needed face-lift so that the organization could potentially use it to host the Special Olympics events, beautifying the campus walking trail with needed landscaping, and constructing items such as architectural benches, small planters, adult and children-sized picnic tables, and garden beds.

The event was part of the Discover Cares program where nearly 70 percent of the company's Riverwoods' workforce participates in various community service projects throughout the year.
