Founders had vision

I think the fact that Illinois is "not in play" is irrelevant. As a Republican, I wish that the state was in play, but I have learned to accept that if our state is not reflective of the overall view of the rest of the country, our not in play status will continue. Could it be that our forefathers envisioned that if the capitalistic society they hoped to establish were subjected to a simple vote of the majority, then we would become a socialistic society?
