St. Charles community to celebrate moms with 'MOMtober' events
Blue Goose Market in St. Charles and other local community leaders and businesses have come together to celebrate "MOMtober" with events throughout October.
Moms Night Out:
The third annual "MOMtober" begins with the kickoff party, "Mom's Night Out," from 6 to 9 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 5, at Blue Goose Market, 300 S. Second St., St. Charles. The event will feature product and service samplings from participating "MOMtober" businesses, wine tastings and food samples. There will also be a ticket giveaway for the "MOMtober Gala" at Club Arcada Thursday, Oct. 26. The event is free and open to the public, but registration is required through the Facebook Event page. Once guests register for the event, they are automatically entered for a chance to win a pair of "MOMtober" gala tickets, including a month long raffle featuring mom-centric items from local participating businesses.
Wine & Design Night:
Get holiday design tips provided by McDowell Remodeling, find out new trends for the holidays with Jeans & A Cute Top Shop, and enjoy an interactive wine cocktail demo from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 19, at The Finery & Blacksmith Bar, 305 W. Main St., St. Charles. A cash bar and passed appetizers also will be available. Plus, complimentary dessert for those who stay for dinner at The Finery. Tickets are $15 per person, and available on Eventbrite.
MOMtober Gala:
Patti Vasquez from WGN Radio will host the event and perform a mom-centric standup comedy show from 6 to 9 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 26, at the Club Arcada, 105 E. Main St., St. Charles. The event also will include a cocktail hour, a fashion show put on by Jeans & A Cute Top Shop and Peak Fitness, live music, and appetizers. A percentage of the proceeds from this event will go toward a donation to the St. Charles Women's Club. Tickets will be available soon through the Club Arcada website.
"MOMtober is about leaders in the community giving thanks to the women who literally make our community run. Let's face it, without our moms and our wives, we would all be in huge trouble," said Blue Goose Market owner Paul Lencioni. "At Blue Goose Market, we love hosting the Mom's Night Out kickoff event because not only is it our chance to celebrate the amazing women in our community, it also lets them know about the other fun events celebrating them all month long."
