It wasn't easy, but Naperville Central became the first DuPage County team to become playoff eligible at 5-0 with a 31-17 DuPage Valley victory over visiting Wheaton Warrenville South.

Then there was one

Willowbrook (4-1, 3-0) is the lone unbeaten in the West Suburban Gold after a wild 38-33 win at Hinsdale South. Scott Tumilty snared his fifth interception and Jack Jessen rushed for 200 yards.

Workhorse

Glenbard North won its third straight game with a 20-7 victory over Naperville North. Panthers junior running back Mark Finley carried the ball 46 times for 315 yards and a touchdown.

Sorry, men

By taking their fifth losses of the season, Glenbard East, Metea Valley, Wheaton Warrenville South and York have in all likelihood been eliminated from playoff qualification.
