Barrington 220 elementary buildings receive Let's Move! Active Schools National Award

Seven Barrington Area Unit District 220 elementary buildings have received the 2017 Let's Move! Active Schools National Award. The award is the nation's top physical education award for K-12 schools. District 220 is one of just seven Illinois school districts to have buildings that were honored. The District 220 elementary schools receiving the award were Barbara B Rose, Countryside, Grove Avenue, Hough Street, North Barrington, Roslyn Road and Sunny Hill. Arnett C. Lines Elementary received the award in 2016, which means all eight District 220 elementary schools have now been recognized. To receive the Let's Move! Active Schools National Award, a school must have met significant benchmarks in five areas: physical education; physical activity before and after school; physical activity during school; staff involvement; and family and community engagement.
