Naperville Art league welcomes new executive director

Naperville Art League welcomes Erin Schneider to the role of executive director. A Naperville resident, she fills the vacancy left when Debbie Venezia joined DuPage Foundation's Arts DuPage.

Schneider has a degree in public and nonprofit administration, plus degrees in community development and planning and in public personnel management from Grand Valley State University.

She is a 19-year veteran of the nonprofit sector, with specialization in program development, fundraising and marketing, and is an active volunteer.

"Erin brings confident leadership and dynamic creativity that is a great match for our organization," said Linda VanderKolk, Naperville Art League president. "Erin's abilities and experience well equip her to help our organization serve the community through classes, art exhibits and innovative ideas. We expect a smooth transition and continued growth."

Schneider will be responsible for the art league's staff and will serve as the main spokeswoman for the organization, representing the league in professional and business capacities.

Erin, her husband and children enjoy going to sporting events, carnivals, the zoo and other educational activities.

Anticipate seeing Schneider at the Naperville Art League's Naperville Fine Art Center and Gallery, 508 N. Center St., and at the league's many events.

Naperville Art League has been a part of the community for 56 years.

"I look forward to working with an active, involved board and the nearly 200 members of the Naperville Art League as together we create the next chapter in the Naperville Art League's story," Schneider said.

Naperville Art League is a 501(c)3 nonprofit, volunteer-operated organization of artists and art enthusiasts. Naperville Art League's mission is to provide art instruction and education, to encourage interest in all forms of creative art, to stimulate understanding and appreciation of art in the community and to participate in other related activities.

Its gallery and gift shop are open to the public. Classes are offered for all ages and skill levels. The league presents the annual award-winning Riverwalk Fine Art Fair in downtown Naperville each September.
