Sikich LLP's Jim Sullivan named independent inspector general for Lincoln-Way High School District 210

Lincoln-Way High School District 210 recently named Jim Sullivan, a director in the forensic and valuation services practice at Sikich LLP, its independent inspector general. In this role, Sullivan will serve as a consultant to the school district and help it investigate complaints of misconduct and improve fraud prevention practices.

"Lincoln-Way should be commended for working proactively to prevent waste, fraud and financial mismanagement," Sullivan said. "This move demonstrates their commitment to ensuring sound financial practices. I look forward to drawing on my extensive work in internal investigations and fraud prevention to assess any complaints that arise and help the district continue to improve internal controls."

Before joining Sikich, Sullivan served as inspector general for the Chicago Board of Education for 12 years. With Sikich's assistance, Lincoln-Way High School District 210 has set up a confidential complaint reporting tool on its website and a fraud hotline that allows individuals to report potential misconduct anonymously.

"The hiring of an independent inspector general gives employees the confidence to report misconduct without fear of retribution," said Mary O'Connor, partner-in-charge of Sikich's forensic and valuation services practice. "Further, it puts potential fraudsters on notice that actions are being closely monitored. Jim's significant experience working with school districts and government agencies will make him a valuable asset to Lincoln-Way."

Lincoln-Way High School District 210 is engaged in an effort to improve its financial practices and internal controls.

"We look forward to the opportunity to work with Sikich," said Scott Tingley, superintendent of Lincoln-Way High School District 210. "Their experience and expertise will serve as an additional measure of fraud prevention and detection for our district."

Sikich's forensic and valuation services practice provides fraud management and prevention, forensic and internal investigation, damage analysis and valuation services to the government, legal and corporate communities.
