Hanover Township to host health and wellness expo
Hanover Township, Cook County Commissioner Timothy O. Schneider and Victory Centre of Bartlett will host the 10th annual "Just for the Health of It" community health and wellness expo from noon-4 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 14, at the Hanover Township William Tiknis Campus, 240 S. Route 59, Bartlett.
Free and open to the public, residents can take advantage of more than a dozen free health screenings for bone density, veins, hearing and more.
"The township hosts many programs and special events, but in our 10th year, our health expo continues to grow in size and in popularity," said Brian P. McGuire, Hanover Township supervisor. "Hopefully for many residents the free screenings are the first step on a long road to a healthier lifestyle."
Last year, hundreds of residents attended the expo to take advantage of the free health screenings and receive other important information on their overall wellness.
"The Victory Centre of Bartlett is proud to co-sponsor this important event," said Vicki Striegel, executive director of Victory Centre of Bartlett. "The health expo has excellent programs and services for residents of all ages to take advantage of, and we are pleased to partner with the township and Commissioner Schneider on this great event."
In addition to the free health screenings, attendees will also be able to participate in raffles, chair massages and free food samplings. Back again this year will be a kids' area featuring a petting zoo, bouncy castle and face painting.
"The health expo is a great opportunity for residents to learn ways to embrace a healthier lifestyle," said Commissioner Schneider. "I am always happy to partner with Hanover Township every year for this great event."
