See service dog graduation at 'Wine for Wags' fundraiser

Submitted by Protected Tomorrows Inc.

Cody, a cream golden retriever, was born in the fall of 2015. He arrived at Tails for Life at 2 months and immediately began his service dog training.

At 4 months old, Cody made his first visit to meet his new owner, a young boy with autism. It's two years later and Cody has completed his training and will be graduating from Tails for Life as a Certified Autism Service Dog and will be placed permanently in his new home.

Come see Cody graduate and go home with his forever family at "Wine for Wags," a fundraiser hosted by Protected Tomorrows Inc. to benefit Tails for Life.

The cost of raising and training a service dog at Tails for Life is approximately $25,000. Each family seeking a service dog is asked to contribute half of the total cost. Many families struggle to raise these funds.

Tails for Life, with Protected Tomorrows Charities, would like to help bridge the financial gap to ensure companion service dogs are attainable for families.

The "Wine for Wags" fundraiser will take place from 6:30-8:30 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 14, at Protected Tomorrows, 103 Schelter Road, Lincolnshire.

Tickets are $50 per person. All proceeds will benefit Tails for Life, whose mission is to empower children with disabilities, to increase their independence and enhance their quality of life by training service dogs to serve the needs of children with medical and/or psychological disabilities.
