Scholarships Awarded by the Palatine Historical Society
The Palatine Historical Society presented two scholarships to high school seniors to help them continue their education. The recipients for this year are Kathleen McManus from Fremd High School and Jennifer Lynn Sobkowiak from Palatine High School.
The Society's scholarship program requires the completion of an application form, submission of grades and references, as well as an essay.
Dozens of applications were received and after reviewing the essays, transcripts and reference letters, McManus and Sobkowiak were selected. The students received their checks with congratulations from Joe Petykowski, President and Marilyn Huetson, Museum Coordinator, at a general meeting of the Palatine Historical Society at the Palatine Library.
