Fargo-Moorhead RedHawks promote interim field manager
FARGO, N.D. (AP) - Fargo-Moorhead RedHawks pitching coach Michael Schlact has been named the team's next field manager.
The 31-year-old Schlact served as the team's interim manager after longtime manager Doug Simunic was fired last month. The team won 16 of its final 24 games under Schlact's leadership.
Simunic was in his 22nd season with the American Association independent baseball team. Schlact becomes only the second manager in team history. He'll also continue to oversee pitchers.
