Show your Palatine Library card in September and save

What's the most valuable card in your wallet? A Palatine Library card.

September is Library Card Sign-up Month, a time when libraries across the country remind everyone of the value of having and using a library card.

In celebration of Library Card Signup Month, Palatine Public Library District provides Show Your Card and Save! Through Sept. 30, participating businesses are offering savings, discounts, and freebies to those who show their Palatine Library card.

Savings from local businesses include automotive, financial, fitness and recreation, food and drink, health and beauty, and shopping. Visit https://is.gd/palatineshowcard for a list of participating local businesses.

Your Palatine Library card provides access to streaming and downloadable movies, music, and e-books, educational and business research tools online, and more.

The library offers a variety of programs and events, services, meeting rooms and study spaces, and a Digital Media Center for digital projects. Your library card provides you with all these valuable opportunities - all at no extra cost.

To get a personal library card, bring one photo ID showing proof of residency within the district boundaries and you will receive a welcome gift. Children younger than 14 need to be accompanied by a parent or guardian when applying for a card.

To get a business library card, the owner or manager from a local business or not-for-profit organization should bring in his/her personal photo ID and the business's current tax bill, lease agreement, or utility bill proving operation within district boundaries.
