Fort Hill Activity Center to Host First Pickleball Tournament Sept. 23

The Naperville Park District invites adult pickleball players to sign up for the inaugural Naperville Pickleball Classic, featuring doubles competition in men's, women's and mixed divisions. The tournament will take place at Fort Hill Activity Center, located at 20 Fort Hill Drive, on Saturday, September 23, beginning at 8:00 a.m.

Participants are asked to register with a partner by September 16. Registration is available online at www.napervilleparks.org.

"Pickleball is one of the most popular activities at the Fort Hill open gyms," said Program Manager Gary Foiles. "People are thrilled to have it indoors. The tournament is something a few players have requested, so we are offering this first-ever tournament to meet that need," added Foiles.

The tournament is open to Naperville residents and nonresidents at both novice and intermediate levels. The tournament will begin with "pool play," which is a Round Robin format, giving teams the opportunity to play several opponents. Then, the tournament will continue with a single elimination round based on the outcome of the pool play.

Final schedules will be sent to participants on September 21. Spectators are welcome to attend and watch pickleball in action.
