Death by a thousand cuts

The defense of the District 59 budget is very familiar to citizens of the Northwest Suburbs; i.e., if the bonds pass, a taxpayer in a $250,000 home would only pay $15 more in property taxes. That $15 is only a small fraction of how much the cost of schools will go up each year, and taxpayers are becoming more aware that schoolboard spending is driving up their property taxes. The defense of steadily increasing expenditures is no more than "death by a thousand cuts" for many taxpayers. We need to know more about why the cost of our schools continues to increase our property taxes.
