BG Singers celebrate 25th anniversary

The Buffalo Grove Park District's BG Singers will perform their 25th anniversary show, "Wish," at 7:30 p.m. Friday, Sept. 15, and Saturday, Sept. 16, and 3 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 17, at the Buffalo Grove Park District Community Arts Center, 225 McHenry Road, in Buffalo Grove.

Directed by Linda Rosen, choreographed by Charla Silver and featuring accompaniment by Daniel Ermel, "Wish" will be a celebration of the best of 25 years, bringing back some of the most popular songs with fresh arrangements and adding some new songs.

Selections this year come from a variety of genres, including Broadway, pop, rock and folk music - from Jersey Boys to Paul Simon to Shakira.

"To add to the fun, we invited alumni of the group to come and join us again for one special song," says the group's director, Linda Rosen. "And we are delighted that many former members are coming to do just that."

In honor of the milestone anniversary, the BG Singers chose Make-A-Wish® Illinois to be the recipient of their yearly philanthropic efforts, and began a series of fundraisers throughout the community to raise awareness and money to enable Make-A-Wish Illinois to grant more wishes.

At all of their concerts, local artists will be exhibiting and selling their art before and after the concerts, donating 100 percent of their exhibit fees to Make-A-Wish Illinois.

Tickets for all "Wish" performances are available online at www.bgsingers.org. Advance ticket prices are $17 for adults, and $15 for children 12 and younger and seniors 62 and older. All tickets purchased at the door will be $20.
