Search continues in Indiana hit-and-run as 3rd victim dies

ELKHART, Ind. (AP) - Authorities say a young girl is the third person who has died after being hit by a vehicle that ran off a street and struck a group of pedestrians in northern Indiana.

Elkhart police continued searching Monday for the vehicle that drove off after the Saturday night crash just north of the city's downtown. Police said they're looking for a light-colored Cadillac with front- and driver-side damage, but had no description of the driver.

Police say 8-month-old Dolly Smith of Elkhart died Sunday at a Chicago hospital. Others killed are 11-year-old Courtney Smith and 22-year-old Shawn Wolcott, both of Elkhart. Two other 22-year-olds were hospitalized with injuries.

Police Sgt. Chris Snyder says investigators don't know whether the crash was intentional or whether drugs or alcohol were involved.
