Barrington's David Nelson a hall of famer

Former Barrington Village President David Nelson is a hall of famer. Nelson recently became one of four new members of the Illinois Outdoor Hall of Fame. The honor was bestowed upon Nelson by the Illinois Conservation Foundation. Joining Nelson in the hall in the 2017 class are C.E. "Bob" Becker, Michael "Mick" Wanless and Glenda Zanders. They were selected from dozens of nominees submitted by Illinois residents and conservation organizations. The Illinois Conservation Foundation began the hall in 2002 to recognize Illinoisans for their significant contributions and unparalleled dedication in preserving, promoting, enhancing or supporting natural resources and outdoor recreation opportunities. Earlier this year, Nelson was honored by having his name attached to downtown Barrington's gazebo at Hough and Main streets.
