Murphy hosting property tax appeal seminar for Schaumburg Township residents

Des Plaines state Sen. Laura Murphy is hosting a property tax appeal seminar for Schaumburg Township residents next week.

Murphy and Township Assessor John Lawson are holding the seminar from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 31, at the Schaumburg Township building, 1 Illinois Blvd. in Hoffman Estates.

Attendees should bring their property tax bill, paperwork from any appraisal in the last 18 months and a closing statement if the house was purchased in the last year.

Staff will be on hand to answer questions and assist attendees with the property tax appeal process.
