Burger King closes across street from Arlington Park
Fans of a Palatine Burger King restaurant on Northwest Highway across the street from Arlington Park will find the doors closed.
Crews were spotted removing equipment from the rear of the building late Wednesday afternoon. A message on Burger King's sign off Northwest Highway read: "Sorry We Closed."
McDonald's and Dunkin' Donuts, which border Burger King to the east on Northwest Highway, remain as fast-food options across the street from the track and the Metra commuter rail station.
Palatine Deputy Village Manager Mike Jacobs said if Burger King closed with the intent to remodel and open again, it would require building permits. He said there are no pending permits.
