The Arboretum raises $7,145 during UnCorked event
The Arboretum of South Barrington announced its annual UnCorked event raised $7,145 for Let It Be Us, a Barrington-area nonprofit advocating for the education and adoption of children living in Illinois foster care.
"We are proud to have hosted UnCorked's annual event for the past nine years because of its positive affect on our community," said Monika Kalicki, marketing director at The Arboretum of South Barrington.
"UnCorked is an annual, self-guided tour that introduces event guests to the area's finest wine, sake and artisan crafted appetizers, all in the spirit of raising money for local charitable organizations."
The 2017 UnCorked Event, which was sponsored by Toll Brothers - America's Luxury Home Builder for the second year in a row, took place Tuesday, July 25. Guests and participants enjoyed tastings and samples from eight signature restaurants at The Arboretum such as Cooper's Hawk Winery & Restaurant, Georgio's Chicago Pizzeria & Pub, Incontro A Tavola, iPic Theaters, MAGO Grill & Cantina, Pinstripes, Ruth's Chris Steak House, and Wok' N Fire.
This year's event recipient, Let It Be Us, is based in Barrington and advocates on behalf of children within the Illinois foster care system. The nonprofit provides training, scholarships, grants and other support vehicles for children within the foster care system; recruits potential foster and adoptive families through the Finding Forever Families programs; directs support service projects to benefit children in foster care; and much more.
The Arboretum of South Barrington has more than 70 retailers, including iPic Theaters, L. L. Bean and HomeGoods.
