Democratic gubernatorial candidates to speak in Des Plaines

Maine Township and Elk Grove Township Democrats are hosting a gubernatorial forum next week in Des Plaines.

Democratic candidates for governor have been invited to speak at the forum from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 22, at Prairie Lakes Community Center at 515 E. Thacker St. Seating for the event is limited.

The field of Democratic gubernatorial candidates is crowded.

They include Evanston state Sen. Daniel Biss, billionaire entrepreneur J.B. Pritzker, businessman Chris Kennedy, Chicago Alderman Ameya Pawar, Highwood state Rep. Scott Drury, as well as Bob Daiber, a school superintendent from Madison County, activist Tio Hardiman and business owner Alex Paterakis.
