Free Ghost Story-Telling Workshop Aug.19 in Naperville

Adults and youth ages 12 and up are invited to sharpen their story-telling skills in a free workshop with Summer Place Theatre's experienced storyteller, Don Gingold, on Saturday, August 19 from 2:00-4:00 p.m. at the Alfred Rubin Riverwalk Community Center. The Center is located at 305 W. Jackson Ave. in downtown Naperville.

The workshop is open to the first ten registrants. To register or for more information, email Don Gingold at ghoststories@summerplacetheatre.org.

The two-hour class will cover proper story preparation, speaking, breathing, gesturing and microphone techniques. No previous experience is required, but participants are encouraged to bring a prepared Halloween story or monologue two minutes in length or shorter that can be used to practice during the workshop.

Those who complete the workshop may be considered for a role as a storyteller in the Naperville Park District's annual Ghost Stories in the Parkā€¦In the Dark event, which will take place October 6-8 at the Riverwalk Grand Pavilion.
