Grayslake-based Eriksson Engineering Associates, Ltd. to participate in Canstruction Chicago

Local civil engineering, traffic and parking and landscape architecture firm, Eriksson Engineering Associates, Ltd. (EEA), is participating for the fourth consecutive year in Canstruction Chicago, benefitting the Greater Chicago Food Depository.

Canstruction Chicago kicks off with Build Night on Wednesday, August 9 at Chicago's Merchandise Mart. Organizations in architecture, engineering and construction industries team up to design structures made entirely of canned foods. Following the event, the can structures are displayed at the Merchandise Mart for public viewing from Thursday, August 10 through Tuesday, September 5. At the conclusion of the event, all of the cans are donated to the Greater Chicago Food Depository.

"Through the years our team has donated more than 17,000 cans of food to the Greater Chicago Food Depository," said Glen Eriksson, president of EEA. "We especially value the mission behind this event- to help end hunger in our community."

In 2015 and 2016, Eriksson Engineering Associates, Ltd. and team partners, Power Construction, FitzGerald Associates Architects and ECS Midwest, received the "Structural Ingenuity" award at the ChicagoCAN Awards Reception.
