Quad Cities powers past Cougars 6-3

A three-run first inning gave Quad Cities a nice start en route to a 6-3 victory Wednesday in Geneva over the Kane County Cougars (18-20, 57-48).

Connor Grey (0-1) made his Cougars debut on the mound against the River Bandits (23-15, 60-46). After the Cougars pulled within one run early, the River Bandits added two insurance tallies in the sixth.

After the first inning, Grey tossed four scoreless innings, giving up three earned runs with a pair of strikeouts and a walk.
