Chicago Attorney, Film Producer and WGN Radio Host Rich Lenkov Featured in Chicago Lawyer Magazine
Rich Lenkov, WGN radio host and capital member of the Chicago law firm Bryce Downey & Lenkov LLC, was recently the subject of a feature story in Chicago Lawyer magazine.
Named last year as one of the "50 Most Influential People in Workers' Compensation", Lenkov has built an impressive list of Fortune 500 clientele who are looking for expertise in worker's compensation, general liability and entertainment law.
Yet, as highlighted in the Chicago Lawyer feature, Lenkov's passions extend well-beyond the courtroom.
In 2015, building on his interest and work in entertainment law, he and a law school colleague founded a film production company - Chila Productions - and have since produced a pair of popular sports documentaries, one on the 1994 Montreal Expos and one on the 1985 Super Bowl champion Chicago Bears entitled "'85: The Greatest Team In Pro Football History."
"Montreal is where I grew up, and Chicago is where my kids are growing up," said Lenkov. "Both teams have registered significant impacts in my life, so when the opportunity arose to support their legacies, I jumped in with both feet."
Lenkov's professional impact has also been felt on the airwaves - where, since 2013, he has hosted a WGN podcast called "Legal Faceoff" focusing on often hotly-contested legal issues of the day - with regular guests such as Alan Dershowitz, F. Lee Bailey and Gloria Allred. Rich also serves as the legal analyst for several WGN programs including "The Bill & Wendy Show" and "Pretty Late With Patti Vasquez".
Acknowledged by his peers as a Leading Lawyer and named to the Illinois Super Lawyers list (given to no more than 5% of Illinois lawyers), Lenkov often lectures for, and has led, a number of committees of national organizations, such as the Claims and Litigation Management Alliance (CLM), the Risk Insurance Management Society (RIMS), the Defense Research Institute, the Illinois Manufacturers' Association and the Illinois Retail Merchants Association.
He also serves on the Northern Illinois University College of Law Board of Visitors and is chair of the board's Chicago Connections Committee. Always willing to share his expertise with students regarding legal employment and professionalism, Lenkov serves as a mentor to students and as a guest speaker and panelist for numerous programs. In recognition of his contributions to his alma mater, and his efforts in the community, he was honored as the NIU College of Law's Alumnus of the Year in 2013 & received the 2016 College Of Law Outstanding Alumni Award.
