Party for a cause at Sugar Grove Corn Boil

The 50th anniversary Sugar Grove Corn Boil continued its four-day run Saturday in Volunteer Park and, as usual, the celebration was all for a good cause.

Organizers of the summer bash always look to give back to the community, and this year they're focusing their efforts on helping Giant Steps, an organization that helps people with autism.

Giant Steps, which is based in Lisle, has offered programs in Sugar Grove for three years and about 32 clients participate in a day program that includes training in life skills as well as a gardening program and horse-riding at Rich Harvest Farms.

The corn boil continues from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday at the park.
