Man charged with Villa Park armed robbery

A Blue Island man has been charged with robbing a Villa Park 7-Eleven store at gunpoint last week and taking Illinois Lottery scratch-off tickets and roughly $200 in cash.

A DuPage County judge set bond at $1 million Friday for Cameron Love, 19, of the 12000 block of Vincennes Road. He has been charged with one count of armed robbery with a firearm and one misdemeanor count of battery.

Authorities say Love entered the store on Villa Avenue at 5:09 a.m. July 20 with another man and after taking the Lottery tickets and cash, forced the clerk to lie on the floor where both men kicked him in the face.

An investigation by Villa Park police led them to Love and a $1 million warrant was issued for his arrest on Monday. He was taken into custody on Friday.

The second suspect remains at large.

Love's next court appearance is scheduled for Aug. 21 in front of Judge John Kinsella.
