Fairfield Road to close Aug. 7-20

Stretches of Fairfield Road between Route 176 and Old McHenry Road near Hawthorn Woods will be closed to traffic starting 5 a.m. Monday, Aug. 7, so Lake County Division of Transportation crews can replace two damaged culverts. The road will reopen by midnight Sunday, Aug. 20, officials said. At first, the road will be closed between Old McHenry and Kruger roads. Starting Monday, Aug. 14, the road will be closed between Schwerman and Milton roads. Motorists should use Route 176, Gilmer Road, Midlothian Road and Old McHenry Road as detours.
