New Rolling Meadows car wash at Ritzy's site gets initial approval
Rolling Meadows aldermen have given initial approval to plans for a Fuller's Car Wash at the former Ritzy's restaurant site.
The shuttered restaurant building at 2765 Algonquin Road will be demolished and replaced with an automatic tunnel car wash and 12 self-operated outdoor vacuums. It will be open 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. seven days a week. Because of traffic concerns, the city is limiting left turns from the car wash onto Algonquin Road during the weekday morning and afternoon rush hours.
Aldermen on Tuesday took a first reading vote in favor of a special use permit. A final, second reading is scheduled for Aug. 8.
Ritzy's closed in April 2014 after 30 years in business.
