Libertyville Running Club hosts team relay competition

The Libertyville Running Club wants to provide an opportunity for the community to experience running the way it should be: fun.

The club will hold their Fun & Free Team Relay Competition from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, July 25, at the Outdoor Track at Libertyville High School, 708 W. Park Ave., Libertyville.

At the event, teams will be randomly chosen to encourage more fun and socialization. Pace doesn't matter; having fun and enjoying an opportunity to run on the LHS track does. Teams consisting of three or four people will take turns running 1 mile over a 2-hour period. The club will provide food and hydration but participants are welcome to bring their own. There is no cost to participate.

Founded by Mike Brunette in 2014, Libertyville Running Club is a community running club that strives to make running fun and highlight what local neighborhoods have to offer. The club puts on several events and fundraisers each year.
