Oakton in Des Plaines to remain closed Wednesday

Due to ongoing road closures caused by flooding that affect both campus entrances, Oakton Community College's Des Plaines campus will remain closed for classes and all activities Wednesday.

The Skokie campus - including the college's enrollment and testing centers - is scheduled to be open, and continuing education classes at high schools will meet based on whether the specific location is open.

"The Illinois Department of Transportation has indicated that both Central and Golf Roads will remain closed due to the high water levels, which make them impassable to traffic," Oakton Vice President Edwin Chandrasekar said.
