Lake Zurich Lions' Alpine Fest July 21-23

The Lake Zurich Lions Club will present their annual Alpine Fest Friday through Sunday, July 21-23. The festival takes place in Lion Fred Blau Park on Main Street in Lake Zurich.

The festival began in the summer of 1942 and was held partly in celebration of Allied victories in World War II. In recent years, the event has drawn over 10,000 people per day. Every day of the festival will include carnival rides, games, a variety of food for purchase, a beer garden and more. Highlights include Water Fights on Friday and Saturday and the Alpine Days Parade on Sunday.

The park will be open for the festival from 6 p.m. to midnight Friday, noon to midnight Saturday, and 1-9:30 p.m. Sunday.

The event's Main Street Stage is sponsored by Ahlgrim Funeral Services. Friday's musical entertainment will include Serendipity performing current and time-tested tunes at 6 p.m. and classic rock cover band ARRA at 8:30 p.m. Saturday's bands include rock/pop band 7th heaven, Chicago-based cover band Friction, and Led Zeppelin tribute band Kashmir. Sunday's performances include Semple Band featuring Keith Semple, a top-20 finalist of "The Voice," and classic rock band Hi Infidelity.

The parade will step off at 11:30 a.m. Sunday. Participants will begin lining up at 9:30 a.m. at Paulus Park. The parade route runs southeast on Whitney Road to Route 22, east to Main Street, north then east to Church Street and then northeast.

Lion Fred Blau Park is at 81 E. Main St., Lake Zurich.
