Costly lack of leadership over Des Plaines police
Your article in the July 13 issue about the Des Plaines cop getting his job back shows how little attention the leadership of the Des Plaines Police Department puts on protecting the taxpayer's pocketbook. Someone in the police leadership should be penalized for allowing this employee's behavior to spiral out of control for years generating significant insurance settlements and then to agreeing for this generous severance. Something is clearly broken in the management of the Des Plaines police force.
