Thirsty Thursday raises nearly $8,500 for Palatine Township Senior Center
Over 150 people enjoyed food and beverages from Rocco Vino's Twin Lakes on Thursday, June 8, at the fifth annual summer fundraiser, Thirsty Thursday, benefiting the Palatine Township Senior Center.
Guests enjoyed a beautiful evening with clear skies under the tent and on the deck at Salt Creek Park District - Twin Lakes in Palatine. Donelda Danz, Palatine Township Senior Citizens Council board chair and Diane Iser, PTSCC 1st vice chair and Thirsty Thursday committee chairman welcomed guests and acknowledged the sponsors for the evening.
There were 33 fabulous raffle baskets, three silent auction items, and many excited winners who were very appreciative of winning fabulous items while supporting a great organization. The most popular items included several liquor baskets, stained glass artwork, and Chicago White Sox tickets. Thank you to the community-minded donors who helped raise nearly $8,500 for the programs and services offered at the Senior Center.
"The seniors who utilize the Palatine Senior Center are thirsty also. They are thirsty for self-fulfilling lives, they are thirsty for access to good nutrition, and they are thirsty for social connection," said Committee Chairwoman Diane Iser. "Your generous support of these efforts makes them a reality. I am thrilled with the success of the event. All of the hard work of the committee paid off in seeing increased funds raised that will directly impact the lives of our seniors. My gratitude goes to all of the Thirsty Thursday Committee members and PTSCC staff."
