New Arlington Heights Library wayfinding signs approved

Arlington Heights trustees have approved the installation of new pedestrian wayfinding signage at the library, part of a $1.1 million parking lot renovation that starts later this month.

A new white entrance gateway will be installed on the south side of the building with a new mounted "Arlington Heights Memorial Library" illuminated sign, as well as red signs identifying pedestrian walkways that lead from the parking lot to the building entrance. The project also includes narrowing the garage entrance for cars, changing the flow of traffic, replacing all lighting in the garage and resurfacing the lot.

"This is something that's going to make the library parking lot a little more functional and pedestrian-friendly," said Trustee John Scaletta.

The work is expected to be complete in early October.
