How can doctors back sugar tax?

I literally cannot believe the letters from physicians complimenting Cook County for providing its citizens with yet another tax, viz.

on sugar. When will these people wake up? If the tax were so great, why did it include non-caloric beverages? Oh that's right. if it moves, tax it.

I'm certain these learned doctors are well aware of the tax on alcohol that put all the liquor stores out of business, stopped alcoholism and made DUIs a thing of the past. Taxing something for the "good of the people" has never worked before and it won't work now.

It's time to grow up. That tax was just another way for the county board president to hoodwink the citizens into believing the Democrats are there to "help people." Good luck with that.

And will the last people left in Madigastin please turn out the lights.
