Arlington Lakes golfers alerted to 13-gun salute

Arlington Lakes Golf Club officials are alerting golfers to an event at the neighboring U.S. Army Reserve Center on Sunday morning where a 13-gun salute is planned.

During a ceremony at the 85th Support Command parade field at 1515 West Central Road, 105 mm artillery will fire blank rounds pointing west. The 13-gun salute should last for several minutes. All the surrounding police departments have been notified, officials said.

The event, honoring the command's upcoming centennial anniversary on Aug. 5, is scheduled from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m.
