2 kids dead, mom hurt in southern Indiana train-SUV crash
HENRYVILLE, Ind. (AP) - Authorities say two children have died after the SUV they were riding in collided with a train in southern Indiana.
Clark County Sheriff's Office Lt. Col. Scottie Maples says a woman believed to be the mother of the children has been hospitalized with serious injuries. The names of the victims were not immediately released.
Maples says the crash occurred Wednesday afternoon in Henryville, located about 20 miles north of Louisville, Kentucky. A witness told police that the crossing lights were activated and the CSX freight train sounded its horn before approaching the crossing.
