Politicians paid off to pass cruel bills
Nothing is more sinister than politicians playing coy with a health care bill that will rip the protections for pre-existing conditions that exist within the Affordable Care Act (Obamacare) from every single American and will leave 24 million without any health care plan at all.
The new American Health Care Act (Trumpcare) will gut the expansion of Medicaid, slashing more than $900 billion in funding to pay for more tax cuts for the wealthy and to allow states to waive emergency services, lab tests, prescription drugs and hospitalization.
Since when did it become OK for politicians to think it's their moral duty to raise the price of premiums and deductibles by an average of $3,600 on the elderly and those with limited income while they give the super wealthy and corporations a tax break of $600 billion? This callousness has nothing to do with a politician's ideology or morals at all, it's about politicians getting paid off by the corporations to pass these cruel bills. Call it for what it is - corruption.
There is nothing logical about the "repeal and replace" by the Republicans. They had eight years to bring their own ideas to the table to make the ACA better. How can the Republican politicians take health care away from 24 million people when those people are the very ones who are paying for every politician's health care and salaries? Does this make sense?
If I've learned nothing else, I've learned that the biggest abusers of our government are the big corporations and wealthy. There isn't a tax loophole, tax incentive, offshore account or tax inversion that they don't love.
