Mundelein writing contest deadline extended

The Mundelein Arts Commission would like to remind writers that deadlines are approaching for the group's two writing contests.

The short story contest deadline has been extended to July 14 (entries must be either emailed or postmarked by that date). The theme for the short story contest is "Home," which can be interpreted in any way.

The judge for this contest is award-winning Mundelein author and editor Richard Thomas.

The playwriting deadline for 10-minute plays is July 30. Winning plays will be judged by Lake County actor/director Bob Sanders, and will be presented to the public in September. The MAC is also seeking directors and actors for the plays.

Both contests have cash prizes and are open to all who live or work in Lake County. For details, contact jlee@email.mundelein.org.
