Tax revenue headed to various taxing units in Porter County

VALPARAISO, Ind. (AP) - More than $132 million in spring disbursement tax revenue is headed to cities, towns, school districts, libraries and other taxing units in Porter County.

County Auditor Vicki Urbanik tells the (Northwest Indiana) Times (http://bit.ly/2toTgQ7 ) for a story Tuesday that the tax revenue went out Monday.

Urbanik says Porter County government is slated to receive $23.7 million during this first disbursement. Taxing units receive the balance of their tax money in December.

The revenue includes proceeds from the county's stormwater fee, which was implemented last year to raise money to better address flooding and other drainage concerns. Urbanik says the fee generated more than $1.9 million during the first disbursement.
