Check out the entries in this year's 'Chair-ity' project

The Downtown St. Charles Partnership's annual "Chair-ity" event is in full swing for summer.

The partnership has received nearly 50 Adirondack-style chairs from local business, residents, and nonprofit organizations.

The chairs have been placed at locations throughout the downtown St. Charles area, including the Municipal Building, 1st Street Plaza, and Lincoln Park.

The partnership would like to encourage the residents of St. Charles and all its visitors to take advantage of the chairs downtown.

The chairs are meant for people to enjoy with friends, family, and their community.

They are all located within walking distance of one another, so that visitors can explore downtown parks and businesses as they check out the 2017 chairs.

City-goers can sit in the chairs over on 1st Street every Wednesday and Friday night this summer to enjoy the free "STC Live!" concerts in the plaza.

After that, they can walk over from First Street to the Municipal Building chairs to enjoy a sunset over the Fox River. They also can enjoy a sweet treat from any of downtown's great ice cream and dessert shops as they relax in the chairs in Lincoln Park.

There are so many ways to benefit from all that downtown St. Charles has to offer this summer, and "Chair-ity" is another great chance to do so.

For those who are looking to enjoy the chairs beyond summer 2017, a number of them are up for auction at e.gesture.com/events/66J/.

Bidding has already begun and will run through August.

All proceeds will go back into downtown beautification and the highest bidders will be able to take home their favorite chairs at the end of the summer.
