New entry signs to welcome drivers to Rolling Meadows
One relocated and two new entry signs will welcome drivers to Rolling Meadows this summer.
The city is ordering two new single-sided LED illuminated entry markers to replace one that was destroyed by a vehicle accident last winter and another in need of extensive repairs. The sign that was struck was at the busy intersection of Golf and Algonquin roads. The other new sign will be installed at the Route 53 off-ramp at Kirchoff Road.
Each sign costs $10,480. The city plans to spend additional money to wire electric and do landscaping once the signs have been installed.
Officials say an existing "spare" entry marker will be installed at Euclid Avenue and Plum Grove Road to replace a sign in poor condition. The spare sign became available after a new bike path was installed near Harvest Bible Chapel on Rohlwing Road.
Installation is expected by the end of this summer.
