Eastern Indiana man accused of setting 4 house fires

NEW CASTLE, Ind. (AP) - Authorities have arrested an eastern Indiana man on charges alleging he set several pre-dawn house fires last week.

Henry County Prosecutor Joe Bergacs says 24-year-old Joshua Dunham of New Castle was arrested Tuesday on four preliminary charges of arson following a joint investigation by the New Castle police and fire departments and the Indiana State Fire Marshal's office.

The fires struck or spread to five houses within a few blocks of each other early on June 6. No injuries were reported. Some of the homes were vacant.

A news release from the city of New Castle said the fires were "incendiary in nature" and that investigators were reviewing home security footage from a neighboring home.

Dunham was being held Wednesday afternoon in the Henry County Jail.
