Arts Commission hosts Decorated Flower Pot Competition

Show your creativity by participating in the Village of Arlington Heights Arts Commission's annual "Decorated Object Art Competition" for all ages that will be showcased at the annual Arlington Heights Frontier Days Festival Sunday, July 2, at Recreation Park.

Decorate an existing flower pot or create an original "flower pot" as a group or an individual and bring it to Recreation Park between noon and 2 p.m. Sunday, July 2.

The competition will be held within the park, near Belmont Avenue and Miner Street, Arlington Heights. Winners will be announced at 3 p.m.

The contest is open to all ages and an entry can be designed by an individual or a group. There is no limit on the number of entries. Flower pots of any size or material will be accepted. Participants may bring in a decorated flower pot or create their own.

Selection criteria for the winners will include artistic impression, originality, quality and aesthetic appeal. First and second prizes will be awarded in four categories (Adult, Youth, Child and Family and Friends) and one prize given for the winner in the People's Choice category.
