Can't we find the time to fly the flag?

Memorial Day 2017 has come and gone. I would like to say the flags were out and now put away. But all I can say is "where were the flags?" I looked around my community and saw only a handful of flags waving in the wind.

What has happened to our communities? Do we not care that the men and women of the military have fought and are fighting for our freedom?

I am disappointed at the lack of patriotism. Have we become so complacent that we consider flying the flag as an inconvenience?

Is our time better spent disparaging the people who serve to preserve our freedom? Why put the flags away?

Why not leave the flags out to proudly say we are aware of all they do for us. I recently thanked a Marine for his service and his response - "You are worth it." - brought me to tears.

Aren't our service people worth it, can't we spend a little of our "precious time" to fly the flag?
