Drew Valentine joins Loyola basketball staff

Drew Valentine will join the Loyola University men's basketball staff, head coach Porter Moser announced Friday.

Valentine, the brother of Chicago Bulls guard Denzel Valentine, spent the last two seasons as an assistant coach at Oakland University in Michigan.

"Drew is a winner and has played a key role with successful programs, helping Oakland to the NCAA Tournament as a player and then (as a graduate manager) with Michigan State's run to the Final Four," Moser said. "Drew is a high-energy individual and is a rising star in this profession."

As a player, Valentine helped Oakland earn 87 victories and a pair of NCAA Tournament berths, graduating in 2013 as the winningest player in school history.
