Indiana names new head for Community, Rural Affairs office

INDIANAPOLIS (AP) - A state office that helps Indiana's communities with economic development plans has a new leader.

Lt. Gov. Suzanne Crouch announced Wednesday she's tapped Danville, Illinois, native Jodi Golden as the new executive director of the Indiana Office of Community and Rural Affairs.

That office helps Indiana communities with their economic development plans by lining up resources and technical aid for them.

Golden most recently was executive director of the Illinois Capital Development Board, which oversees state construction and renovation projects in that state. She previously held posts with the Indiana Education Savings Authority, the Indiana Public Retirement System and the Indiana Republican Party.

Golden began her career in the Illinois General Assembly as a policy analyst for the Illinois House.
